The Universal Institute for Successful Aging of Carolinas (UISAC) has served ethnic and multicultural communities in the Charlotte–Mecklenburg region for over **15 years**. We represent **34 ethnic communities**, including AAAPI, refugees, immigrants, and minorities who are now proud United. UISAC was founded to address the unique challenges faced by aging populations from diverse cultural backgrounds—barriers such as language access, unfamiliar systems, social isolation, health disparities, and lack of representation at decision-making tables States citizens.

Integrating language access, food traditions, faith, customs, and family values into senior services and housing. Providing shelter, physical and mental health support, multidimensional counseling, food security, transportation,
UISAC was founded in 2006 in response to the growing and increasingly diverse population within the Charlotte-metro area. Charlotte is now home to individuals from over 83 countries, including more than 6,000 refugees, with a steadily increasing elderly population among them.
Recognizing the unique challenges faced by aging individuals—particularly those from refugee, immigrant, and minority communities—UISAC was created to address unmet needs and provide culturally responsive support systems. From its inception, UISAC has focused on building sustainable solutions that promote successful aging, community integration, and overall well-being.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, UISAC emerged as a **front-line responder**, delivering critical services to seniors and vulnerable families, further strengthening our role as a trusted community bridge.
Our flagship initiative, the **AAAPI Senior Village of Charlotte – East**, envisions four residential towers with over 100 units each, offering culturally responsive senior housing and wraparound services designed to support aging with dignity. UISAC proudly partners with government agencies, healthcare providers, housing authorities, and community organizations to create pathways for **successful aging, resilience, and community well-being**.
